The Time Breakers were after the golden era of the Indo-Rock bands in Germany without doubt in the 2nd half of the sixties together with The Tielman Brothers the most popular Indo band in Germany. Originally the started as the 4 man band The Four Beat Breakers in the summer of 1964. Franky Luyten had just left The Tielman Brothers and apart of him the fabulous ex- Black Dynamites drummer Henny Heutink the brothers Alfons (Rooie Fons) and Sam (José) Faverey were participating. Right away they made a big  impression in Scheveningen(the seaside village of The Hague) and played also in the Summer a year later in the well known dancing Sheherazade. In the autumn of 1965 the name was changed in The Time Breakers and they left to Germany for their first contract in Castrop Rauxel, where Franky had played with The Tielman Brothers. Henny Heutink preferred to stay closer to home, he returned to Holland and founded The Residents together with 3 ex members of the fallen apart Crazy Rockers. He was replaced by drummer Radja Dalimonthee..

The Time Breakers became really complete with arrival of the 5th member. This was the German organ player Friedl Kuhnke, who derived from The Twens the backing band of German singer Benny Quick. After a successful try-out in the dancing Kaskade in Cologne he soon joined the band permanently.  In 1967 the obtained a recording contract with the Phonogram company and their singles were released under the name Franky & The Timebreakers on the Decca label. The Time Breakers made great impact with singer Franky and their close harmony vocals, but during their stage appearances instrumentals and show times were still a part of their act. The musical influence of organ player Friedl Kuhnke became bigger and bigger and the real Indo-Rock was especially later a minor part of their repertoire. They also played classical pieces like the “Warschau Concerto”. In 1968 they played in Palais de Danse in Scheveningen and with their unique sound they had a lot of success. After that Franky was invited for the Dutch National Song Festival, but without result for him. In 1969 the brothers Alfons en Sam Faverey went from May until September to The Residents. Guitarist George Gabriël (o.a. ex- The Fender Rollers, The Eastern Aces) and bass player Han Averbeek (ex- Wendy & The Gardenias) came as their replacers in the group. Alfons and Sam returned in October 1969 from The Residents. A very interesting formation was on stage in 1972 when Andy Tielman was a member of THE TIMEBREAKERS for half a year. George Gabriël stopped in 1974  as a professional musician and he was replaced by guitarist Rio Dalimonthee. In this configuration the group existed until 1977.

Then Franky Luyten and Han Averbeek went back to the Netherlands and started with “Reduction”. The other musicians were Wout Janse(n), Jan Bijl and Roland Wijnants. The name "Reduction" was name reconstruction of the 3 groups of which the band members came from:  REsidents, DUtch Creation and the TIme Breakers. Franky left Reduction in 1970 because he was offered a fancy recording contract. But that appeared to be lose promises and he joined the Italian band “Cardinal Point”of which the father of Marco Borsato, now a famous Dutch singer, was a member too. In Holland they toured in the nightclub circuit, but they also played in Italy. Family ties were strong and Franky went to his relatives in the United States and he played in L.A. until in 1973 Wout Janse phoned him and asked him to join “Reduction” again. The played throughout Germany and Austria, also the Austrian winter sport resort Meyrhofen, where he met Maria who later became his wife.

In 1974 he founded together with his nephew Rob Latuparisa and Jane Tielman the “Jane Tielman Selection. They played in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden and Finland. Franky married his Maria on the 17th December 1975 and in 1976 he stopped with the band and started working in the photo shop and boutique of his wife Maria and the boarding house of his parents in law in Meyrhofen.  There he also set up an own recording studio (Sound M Studio / Marky Records) and played together with Austrian musicians.  Franky and Maria opened a restaurant and in the evening Franky played there with various musicians. After 24 years of Meyrhofen his rambling musical blood brought him in the nineties to Portugal, were he bought a restaurant in which he provided the music himself. That brought him not enough satisfaction so he moved to Mallorca  where is old friend Radja Dalimonthee owned a big discotheque. Radja had a lot of contacts so for the next 3 years he preformed in hotels all over Spain but in the end Franky Luyten came home to The Hague.
